Deciding to adopt was fairly easy for us. We looked into adoption agencies, but they seemed to be too concerned with money and not so concerned about placing adopted babies properly. We support open adoption and will work with the birthmother regarding contact. Although adoption agencies can connect adoptive parents with birthmothers, we feel that we can find our own birth parent with a child to adopt. Birthmothers (birth-mothers) can contact us directly with an infant or child to adopt, and we can initiate the adoption process together.
We are looking for an independent, domestic adoption, preferably contained within California. We can begin the adoption process either when the birthmother is pregnant or after her (unplanned) pregnancy. And because it is an open adoption, the birthmother can continue contact with her child after the adoption.

If the birthmother has already delivered a baby, we, as the adopting parents, can begin the adoption process with a lawyer who can submit appropriate legal documents determining the new custody of your newborn child.
